More About Jules
I have the great blessing of a family with a wonderful and diverse taste in music. My father has been a keen collector of jazz vinyl LPs and would always play Sarah Vaughan, Nancy Wilson, Tony Bennett, Sinatra, Coltrane and of course Miles Davis. In fact, all social gatherings would be preceded by “Kind of Blue” playing in the house whilst final preparations were made ahead of guests’ arrival.
I would always sing along to records and loved harmonising with my older sister. We would sing everything from Anita Baker to Nancy Wilson and Carole King to Stevie Wonder.
Although I had classical piano lessons from the age of 8 years old and worked my way through all the grades, giving me a solid piano foundation, it was always accompanying myself and other people singing that brought such great pleasure.
Since 2019 I have been writing my own songs, most with a jazz flavour and these will be released as an album “Place Your Bets” in the coming year. I also love putting my own spin on many well-loved jazz standards which give that romantic, chilled vibe to any social setting be it a restaurant, bar, or private event.
Music is a source of delight for me, both making it and listening to it, and it is my go to activity both for relaxing and energising myself. I look forward to continuing to share my music with many people.
